Alsuma Timeline

1905- Welcome, Creek Nation, Indian Territory Post Office established.
1905-1907- Elmer Jenks Is U.S. Post Master of Alsuma.
1906, 12 July- Welcome, Creek Nation, Indian Territory's name is officially changed in U.S. Post Master's file to Alsuma, Creek Nation, Indian Territory.
1907- 16 November Oklahoma becomes a state.
1909- Missouri Kansas and Texas Railroad opens Alsuma, Oklahoma railroad station.
1919- Union School opens as a consolidation of Alsuma, Mayo, Boles, and McCullough for white children.
1926- Alsuma post office closed.
1940- Alsuma railroad station reported to have been closed.
1945- Alsuma's new railroad station opens to facilitate the war effort.
1948- Alsuma rural water district established.  Construction of line soon begins to tap Tulsa City water line for Alsuma's use. 
1955- Integration ordered and Alsuma Separate School begins to close and students attend Union Public schools.
1957- Salk polio vaccinations begin
1966- Alsuma is annexed by the city of Tulsa.
Late 1960's Tulsa City-County Health Department declares moratorium on any new septic systems due to soil being unfit to utilize for effected, safe septic systems.
1969- Tulsa approves redevelopment of Alsuma by Urban Renewal
1970- Tulsa rezones entire area of Alsuma as industrial zoning.
1971- Tulsa extends sewer and water lines into area once called Alsuma.
1971- Alsuma railroad station closes for the last time.
